through the creatures many minions, and eventually face the monster himself.
One player takes on the role of a pilot, navigating the ship around the environment.

These promotional Posters were created for DIBS by Niagara College Graphic Design students. Using reference provided by the DIBS art team, these students each created their own unique take on the theme of the game. Once they were completed, the DIBS team voted on their favorite to represent the game at LevelUp.

SOUNDTRACK
I decided to create several songs for DIBS as I dabble in playing the keyboard. The songs I wrote for DIBS can be listened to on my Sound Cloud above. The music was created in FL Studio using my keyboard MIDI controller. Although music creation was not taught in any fashion during my course I took it upon myself to put my skills to use and practice creating music suitable for a video game.

This is the main menu screen for DIBS. I created all the assets featured on this screen, as well as put the scene together. The ship was one of the first assets I created for DIBS. I modeled it in 3DsMax and textured it as well. I created the planet specifically for the main menu to give an idea of what the planet will look like in game. In addition, I created all the UI elements. I created all the games UI elements in Photoshop and scripted their functionality in Unity.
DIBS is an action packed, fast paced game. Here we can see players facing off against a pack of Hordies and several Spinners (red teeth). I scripted the artificial intelligence for the Spinners. They will chase after the ship and once in range, will take aim and spin dash at the players. if they hit, you take damage and get bashed backwards. The spinners themselves go flying in the opposite direction. I also designed, built, lit, and terrain painted the environment (more on that later).
You get a nice view of the design philosophy I had when situating all the games assets to create the lush alien world seen in DIBS. The plants and rocks, as well as the models for the crystals were created by the art team (with the exception of the emission mask that makes the crystals glow, which I created). I also created light "cookies", basically masks that edit the shape of the light given off by spotlights to give the illusion of light pouring in from cracks in the cave roof.
